Logistics Coordinator
Location: Mississauga Ontario
Schedule: MonFri 8AM5PM

Our client is a global leader and manufacturer of highticket highprecision premium machinery for industries including Chemical EV battery Food Plastics compounding etc. They work with large companies across Canada the US and Latin America. Committed to sustainability and innovation they are growing rapidly and seeking a proactive Logistics Coordinator to join their team.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detailoriented Logistics Coordinator to oversee the shipping of products across North America and ensure all logistics processes run efficiently. This role involves coordinating shipments managing customs compliance and collaborating with logistics and transportation partners.

What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for a logistics expert with experience in customs coordination tariff classification and transportation management. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of tariff codes international trade agreements and logistics optimization and is skilled at working with customs brokers and regulatory agencies. Strong problemsolving abilities attention to detail and effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing and executing logistics operations including scheduling transportation and shipment tracking to ensure timely deliveries within Canada and internationally (mainly US and occasionally to Latin America Europe)
  • Oversee customs compliance including tariff classification country of origin reviews and maintaining CUSMA/USMCA certificates.
  • Collaborate with local couriers manufacturers and longrange transportation providers to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
  • Speaking to clients to provide updates on shipments of parts and machinery
  • Prepare and review customs documentation ensuring accuracy in duty assessments and regulatory compliance.
  • Work with Sales and Finance to ensure correct duty charges are reflected on customer invoices and create codes for new products.
  • Ensure the company’s logistics system is accurately updated to align with tariff regulations by reviewing and updating classification codes.
  • Analyze logistics performance and cost data to optimize efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work with customs brokers in Canada and the U.S. to resolve discrepancies ensure compliance and negotiate with couriers for the best rates.

Qualifications
  • 35 years of experience in logistics coordination customs compliance or a related field in a bluecollar environment (preferably machinery or metal industries).
  • 1 years working with tariff compliance (specifically USbased)
  • Experience working with customs brokers and regulatory agencies.
  • Background in tariff classifications country of origin determination and customs recordkeeping.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations duties and tariff classifications.
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or other customsrelated certification is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of CARM and international trade agreements (preferred).
  • Experience in the machinery or related industry (preferred).
  • Excellent organization time management and attention to detail ensuring accuracy in logistics operations and documentation.
  • Techsavvy with experience using ERP systems and transportation/shipping/logistics software to manage shipments and streamline processes.
