Senior Transit Signals and Train Control Inspector

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Transit Signals and Train Control Inspector for immediate employment in Orange CA.

The responsibilities of this position may include but are not limited to:

• Serves as technical expert in field inspections ad audits recognized as the goto expert internally and externally.
• Provides guiding direction for inspections on engagements.
• Sets direction and goals for inspection and/or business line.
• External spokesperson on technical project issues.
• Leads the audit strategy for individuals area of expertise.
• Visits construction sites and inspects each stage of construction up to completion. Interpret plans specifications and codes and verifies contract work is performed in accordance with them.
• Monitor construction sites for safety violations. Prepares NonConformance Reports when work is not performed to the approved standards. Maintains daily activity logs and reports.
• Review or prepare interim progress reports as documentation for contractor payments. Monitor contractor testing activities. Prepare daily reports on labor material and equipment on site. Determine if construction activities and work product conforms to plans and specifications; if not issue NonConformance Reports for corrective action. Conduct follow up inspections to resolve NCRs.
• Assist in maintaining supporting and promoting a safe work environment while complying with LACMTAs safety rules policies and procedures.
• Coordinates preparation of inspection cost estimates and maintenance records.
• Arranges coordinates and oversees technical inspections such as electrical mechanical landscaping soil testing concrete and asphalt mixes and reinforcing steel for conformance to specification requirements.
• Coordinates Metro Test laboratory activities and compares verifications test results with result from Contractors laboratory.
• May allocate inspection resources and supervise inspectors.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

• HS 10 years or more of relatable or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• 10 years of experience for Senior positions which reflect a progressively increasing level of responsibility on complex projects as a General Contractor heavy construction projects transportation or transit construction projects for the appropriate disciplines including train control signals and communications systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on underground transit facilities.
• ACI Registered Construction Inspector License comparable Deputy Inspection License for a county for city agency NICET certification NFPA or other alternative certification form an acceptable nationally recognized organization is highly desirable where applicable to Inspection of that particular trade.
• CalOSHA/OSHA 30 training certification.
• University education in Electrical Engineering.
