Key Responsibilities
- Primary areas of responsibility include:
- Supporting SAR management PEP Reviews law enforcement engagement & fraud notifications
- Manage and advise on AML/CTF and sanctions escalations across all areas of the VPL Compliance team
- Deputising for the MLRO in their absence
- Leading Regulatory Diligence (direct Client diligence and Visa Direct program diligence where required alongside the diligence manager)
- Support the resolution of all Compliance issues queries and concerns raised both internally (by other members of the business or team) and externally (by law enforcement and/or regulators particularly)
- May be required to take on additional regulatory role registrations globally
- Support the MLRO in their broader responsibilities
- Delivery maintenance and improvement of the relevant compliancerisk control framework(s)
- Ensure compliance with relevant local legislation and any applicable local compliance acceptance criteria as defined by the board
- Oversight and ensuring businesswide training in all matters of relevant financial crime compliance
- Provide management leadership and direction to the compliance function as required
- Deliver change that matures the compliance function while continuing the BAU agenda
- Manage operational aspects of compliance activities including scalability planning
- Oversee alignment of VPLs AML/CTF and Sanctions compliance processes with global policy and processes where appropriate
- Report Management Information to the Head of Compliance Visa Payments Risk Committee and board including an Annual Report on the effectiveness of the control framework and Financial Crime Risk Assessment results
Leadership responsibilities
- Provide effective challenge to the MLRO Visa Payments Leadership Team and Board of Directors on Compliance matters
- Provide leadership and direction to the compliance team and direct reports specifically through regular engagement and individual objectives and deliverables.
- Allocate work and set delivery expectations using objective setting within the professional development / appraisal process.
- Ensure delivery through others (through constructive criticism guidance and support).
- Help to define evolve and promote the Compliance Mission & Vision.
- Identify training / skillset requirements and coach direct reports.
- Exemplify the company Leadership Principles and promote them in all areas of the role within and outside the function
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of six years working in a Compliance area.
- Minimum of three years working within financial services.
- Experience managing teams in particular including CDD.
- Detailed understanding of regulatory and financial crime risks and legislative regimes related to international payments and financial services generally.
- Understanding of risk risk assessment control frameworks and risk mitigation.
- Understanding of operations processes and IT systems in payments processes is desirable.
