Your Role as a GL Accountant
Job description:
We are looking for a highly skilled and detailoriented GL Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will manage the endtoend accounting process ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements. This role involves overseeing the closing process reconciliation of accounts preparing reports for management and ensuring compliance with accounting We principles and regulations. The GL Accountant plays a critical role in the monthend and yearend close financial reporting and supporting internal and external audits.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the monthend and yearend closing processes ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the General Ledger by reviewing reconciling and correcting any discrepancies.
- Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts finding and resolving any variances on time.
- Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements including profit and loss statements balance sheets and cash flow statements following accounting standards (Dutch GAAP IFRS).
- Implement and keep strong internal controls ensuring compliance with accounting standards and external regulations.
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes recommending efficiencies where possible to streamline the BooktoReport cycle.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial transactions.
- Work closely with other departments (e.g. Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable in the shared service center) to resolve discrepancies and support correct reporting.
- Provide adhoc financial reports and analysis as needed for decisionmaking.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or related field.
- 5 years of experience in accounting or finance with a focus on booktoreport processes.
- Ability in accounting software (e.g. SAP) MS Excel and Powerbi.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Attention to detail with strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an international (corporate) environment preferred.
- Knowledge of automation tools or ERP system integration.
