Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE: This position will provide support in multiple areas of the project.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for observing the opacity of emissions generated from the coking making process and recording the observations in accordance with local state and federal regulations.
- The data collected is entered into a database.
- This portion of the role requires working in a heavy industrial environment with strict safety requirements.
- Responsible for inputting and evaluating air monitoring results using Microsoft Access and other computer programs.
- Responsible for inputting and managing the NPDES (water permit) data using the client database system.
- Entering data and generating reports for the client and using the early warning notification system for data out of range is part of the support provided.
Qualifications :
Education / Experience / Background
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Some experience in a related position or industrial environment preferred.
Knowledge / Skill / Abilities
- Must be able to obtain the necessary medical clearances to wear a respirator.
- Must be able to communicate observations to operations supervisors and client contacts.
- Must have the ability to read write and comprehend English (operational process safety and quality instructions).
- Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Must be able to serve rotational 24 hour emergency oncall if required by site.
- Knowledge of Air Permitting Stack Testing and monitoring associated with air permits is desired.
- Must demonstrate ability to work and communicate in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
- Computer skills including Microsoft and Google programs.
Required Certification / Licenses / Training
- Must be able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check
- Must possess a valid drivers license and a safe driving record.
