Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE: This position will provide support in multiple areas of the project.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for observing the opacity of emissions generated from the coking making process and recording the observations in accordance with local state and federal regulations. 
  • The data collected is entered into a database.
  • This portion of the role requires working in a heavy industrial environment with strict safety requirements. 
  • Responsible for inputting and evaluating air monitoring results using Microsoft Access and other computer programs. 
  • Responsible for inputting and managing the NPDES (water permit) data using the client database system. 
  • Entering data and generating reports for the client and using the early warning notification system for data out of range is part of the support provided.

Qualifications :

Education / Experience / Background

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Some experience in a related position or industrial environment preferred.

Knowledge / Skill / Abilities

  • Must be able to obtain the necessary medical clearances to wear a respirator.
  • Must be able to communicate observations to operations supervisors and client contacts.
  • Must have the ability to read write and comprehend English (operational process safety and quality instructions).
  • Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Must be able to serve rotational 24 hour emergency oncall if required by site.
  • Knowledge of Air Permitting Stack Testing and monitoring associated with air permits is desired.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work and communicate in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft and Google programs.

Required Certification / Licenses / Training

  • Must be able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check
  • Must possess a valid drivers license and a safe driving record.
