About Us:

Air New Zealands Ground Support Equipment (GSE) & Tooling division plays a significant part in contributing to the achievement of Air New Zealands commercial and operational goals through OnTime Performance Safety and Operational Excellence. Our primary purpose is to ensure the safety of our people and environment while delivering GSE and tooling solutions to our key stakeholders. The Opportunity:

We have a 12month Fixed Term opportunity for a skilled practitioner to join our Auckland or Christchurch based team where you would support delivery of varied and strategically important projects across our aviation tooling portfolio. This is a dynamic role with significant opportunity to engage with a wide cross section of our organisation connect with external suppliers and work alongside other passionate team members. What youll get involved with:

You will lead and manage tooling improvement projects to ensure business needs are met through ontime on budget safe and rightfirst time delivery of outcomes to the operation; ultimately enabling our engineering and maintenance teams to maintain airworthiness and keep our aircraft flying.

You will develop close working relationships with project sponsors and key stakeholders; ensuring effective communication is in place requirements are understood and target outcomes are delivered. Project planning scoping risk and financial management will be core to this role and aligned to our developing project delivery framework. To be successful in this role: This role requires effective time management and prioritisation to meet project milestones strong problemsolving skills and excellent attention to detail. Experience in delivering successful project outcomes is desirable along with being a selfstarter.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience in managing projects in a complex highly regulated environment
  • Engineering qualification trade experience and a degree of commercial acumen
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a technical aviation or tooling related field
  • Ability to identify key stakeholders lead and facilitate meetings
  • Influential communication style and be outcomes focused
  • Working knowledge of process improvement practices
  • Ability to identify with the company vision and delivery of strategic direction
  • Ability to thrive in an environment of ambiguity and have an interest in safety management
  • Ability to work with commercially sensitive and confidential information exercising discretion.
