Job Description

Location of Job: Remote Canada 

We are looking for a handson Principal Technical Program Manager to lead Wisers largest technology program. Reporting directly to the CTO this role will work with Engineering Product and Operations leadership to own and lead a highvisibility crossdiscipline program containing 8 teams and 50 people. This is a great opportunity to own and shape our program management practices and to have massive impact across all our lines of business.  We have an ambitious vision to enable the next level of growth and innovation of our Commerce Platform and are looking for a key leader to drive that transformation.  You will initially lead the program to integrate multiple software platforms and applications into a unified software suite. If you love efficient working with multiple business units and delivery teams and solving complex integration challenges you will love this role. 

What You Will Do 

  • Refine Program Process enhance and improve our program management process from discovery through postlaunch support. 

  • Execute execute execute identify risks dependencies via meticulous project planning resource planning and forecasting. 

  • Decide with Data define and track success with metrics using KPIs to drive key decisions 

  • Be Agile embrace modern empowered product team and agile delivery practices working closely with product and engineering leadership to foster team adoption of these principles  

  • Collaborate and Align work effectively across multiple senior leaders stakeholders and delivery teams to properly set priorities and resolve conflicts. 

  • Communicate clearly ensure everyone from the executive team to the individual team members have a clear understanding of program status progress milestones risks and issues via reports steering meetings and regular executive presentations. 

  • Mentor Project Leaders help engineering delivery leaders follow good project management practices develop good plans and stay accountable to their commitments. 


Qualifications :

  • 10 years of professional experience in technology project and program management 

  • BS in Engineering Computer Science or related discipline 

  • Past professional experience as a software engineer or related technical role 

  • Demonstrated ability to grasp complex technical concepts quickly and communicate such concepts effectively to a nontechnical audience 

  • Prior success delivering large system integration programs involving multiple global teams and working directly with senior business and technology leaders 

  • Strong problemsolving skills able to structure and break down large openended problems into smaller more tractable problems 

  • Able to negotiate motivate and lead through influence 

  • Proficient in gathering and presenting data in ways that drive effective decision making 

  • Strong understanding of productdriven engineering and agile delivery practices 

  • Outcome and successoriented 

  • Excellent project management skills 

  • Able to debate delivery strategy with business engineering and product leaders 

  • Proficient in common project and program management primarily the Atlassian suite. 

  • Prior experience working within a retail or ecommerce environment 

  • Understanding of complex B2B SaaS platform development and delivery 

  • Experience managing within a remotefirst environment 

  • Desire to lead and mentor junior program managers when the team grows in the future

  • None initially could grow into a people leadership role over time

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package. Pay is established on an individual basis after considering multiple factors such as relevant experience education and other qualifications. In addition we take into account geographical differentials and make sure pay is equitable with our current staff. For this position our hiring range for base annual pay is estimated to be CAD$170000 to $190000  at the time of this posting. 

Performancebased discretionary bonuses and variable pay plans are available for some positions.
