Job Description

SENCO Outstanding and Inclusive Secondary School Reading April Start

Location: Reading
Contract: FullTime Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS SEN Allowance

A thriving and inclusive secondary school in Reading is seeking an experienced and passionate SENCO to lead their Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision. The school is known for its commitment to ensuring every student receives the support they need to thrive and succeed.

Your Role as SENCO:

  • Lead the schools SEN provision ensuring students receive the right support.
  • Oversee EHCPs targeted interventions and collaborate with external agencies.
  • Work closely with teachers parents and support staff to develop individualized learning plans.
  • Ensure compliance with SEND legislation and best practices in education.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff to enhance SEN support across the school.

Who Were Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher with SENCO accreditation (or willingness to obtain it).
  • Experience in managing SEN provision in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with a commitment to inclusion.
  • A deep understanding of SEN strategies and legislation.
  • Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one).
