Job Description
The Energy Efficiency Analyst will play a key role in the development of largescale projects with ambitious energy and environmental goals aligned with Lemays NET POSITIVE approach. They will support various project teams in researching and implementing innovative energy concepts.
What you will accomplish with us:
- Identify innovative mechanical concepts to design buildings that meet local and national standards (CNEB ASHRAE etc. and environmental certifications such as Zero Carbon Building (ZCB);
- Serve as the primary point of contact for overseeing energy system concepts in architectural projects working closely with engineering partners;
- Identify sustainable strategy opportunities and propose solutions related to envelope performance passive design and natural ventilation;
- Support the monitoring of energy performance from design through to operation;
- Conduct energy performance calculations comfort assessments and conceptual validations for the firms projects;
- Develop innovative energy and bioclimatic approaches using simulation tools particularly during the preconcept and concept phases of largescale projects in Canada and internationally;
- Prepare calculation reports presentations and supporting materials for internal and external clients as well as project partners;
- Collaborate with the Senior Analyst to develop tools calculation methods and thematic studies;
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Lemays NET POSITIVE approach.
Qualifications :
What youll need
The ideal candidate is distinguished by their curiosity rigor versatility strong analytical skills and expertise in building mechanical systems energy efficiency and energy and comfort simulations.
- Bachelors masters or other university degree in architecture or engineering;
- Two to five years of experience in building mechanics or architecture;
- Proven expertise in energy simulation with three to five years of experience;
- Knowledge of industrystandard software including Design Builder EnergyPlus Covetool IES VE Equest and RetScreen;
- Strong understanding of real estate development processes;
- Ability to simplify and coordinate concepts related to building mechanics bioclimatic design netzero energy and Passive House for architects partners and clients;
- Basic knowledge of mechanical system controls and commissioning processes;
- Familiarity with Canadian energy codes and regulations;
- Autonomous and able to execute tasks independently;
- Knowledge of Revit software and Python programming languages (an asset);
- CPI or member of the Ordre des ingnieurs du Qubec (OIQ) or Ordre des architectes du Qubec (OAQ);
- Strong writing skills;
- Organized rigorous and capable of working in multidisciplinary teams;
- Demonstrates innovation creativity flexibility autonomy and adaptability;
- Bilingual in French and English both spoken and written.
