Job Description
Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: 12months contract with potential to extend
Work set up: Hybrid
Our client in the global professional services industry is seeking a skilled Software Engineering Application Developer proficient in COBOL programming language on the IBM Mainframe to design build and configure applications aligned with business processes and application requirements. Expertise in C and Foundation for Cooperative Processing (FCP) is highly advantageous. This role demands an independent performer who can become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and actively contribute to team discussions and problemsolving initiatives.
What you will do:
- Design build and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements using COBOL on the IBM Mainframe.
- Develop innovative solutions to align with business needs ensuring efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to design build and optimize applications.
- Perform troubleshooting and debugging activities to identify and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Demonstrate expertlevel proficiency in Design and Build Enablement.
- Contribute to Build Management Configuration and Release Management processes.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance application development capabilities.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology Software Engineering or a related field.
- 35 years of experience in application development and maintenance with a focus on COBOL programming and IBM Mainframe systems.
- Expertise in COBOL programming with experience on IBM Mainframe systems.
- Knowledge of C and Foundation for Cooperative Processing (FCP) is an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Design and Build Enablement Build Management and Configuration and Release Management.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and ability to provide innovative solutions in a collaborative environment.
- Proven ability to work independently while contributing to team goals and discussions.
