Senior Bridge Engineer

Our Bridge group works on a wide range of projects including bridge and retaining walls dams storm and traffic structures inspections rehabilitations load ratings and assisting with construction engineering services.  We facilitate designs on transportation projects that include grade separations interchanges and stream crossings for public and private clients throughout the Midwest.

As a Senior Engineer you will spreadhead technical excellence serving as the lead engineer and trusted advisor on intricate projects. Your responsibilities will extend to providing highlevel technical design overseeing quality assurance/control and managing projects with a keen eye on scope schedule and budget. You will not only review contracts and champion efficiency in producing topnotch work but will also curate technical resources fostering an environment of continuous improvement. There will also be opportunity to provide guidance to less experienced staff contribute to team building and engage in client relations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provides highlevel project design and review of project documents and design quality for complex projects.
• Serves as a technical specialist applying advanced engineering concepts and developing approaches to solve for complexities.
• Performs QA/QC and ensures delivery of completed designs meets quality standards and project objectives.
• Conducts research in areas of considerable scope and complexity.
• Advises and directs staff on design approaches to fulfill project requirements.
• Works collaboratively to promote efficiencies and produce high quality work.
• Contributes to the development of standards and/or guidelines for engineering activities within the team.
• Supervises mentors and reviews technical assignments of less experienced staff.

• Strong communication skills both written and verbal

• Bachelors degree in civil engineering 
  • Masters degree or in pursuit a plus
• 8 years of relevant engineering experience
• Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE)
• Experience with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design
• Experience with bridge analysis and design programs (LARSA LEAP Bridge Expertise Lpile SPColumn or MDX)
• Expertise with DOT bridge projects
• Familiarity with MicroStation software
