You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailSysco are currently recruiting for a Data Privacy Advisor to join the Global Data Privacy Team on a fulltime permanent basis reporting into the Senior Director Global Data Privacy Officer. The Global Data Privacy Team is part of the Sysco Legal Team who are based across the UK France Sweden and US.
This role requires being on site in Ashford 12 days per week.
The Data Privacy Advisor will work primarily across the UK and Europe businesses; however the role will also support with all data privacy matters where it is required.
The Data Privacy Advisor will provide advice and guidance across the UK and Europe markets on Data Privacy lLaws including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) ensuring that complex data privacy topics/requirements are communicated in a way that is appropriate to different audience types. You will support colleagues across the business to understand their data privacy obligations and Syscos Data Privacy Governance Framework with daily management of the data privacy inbox where requests for guidance and support are received.
This role will also manage and oversee the coordination of Individual Rights Requests for both customers and employees such as Subject Access Requests and deletion requests and will also play a key part in supporting the completion of Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Vendor Risk Assessments for new projects/relationships across the businesses.

About you:
To be successful in this role you must have a good understanding of Data Privacy laws; including GDPR and PECR. CCPA and PIPEDA would be an advantage. You will have proven experience working in a Data Privacy/Data Protection role and be an analytical thinker with a detailed and logical approach to problem solving. It would be highly advantageous to have a familiarity with a global structure and have a high level of attention to detail. You will have the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with colleagues at all levels. Its essential to have a proactive approach to building relationships and show willingness to engage with the wider Legal and Compliance Team and support where necessary.
