You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe City of Mission is looking for a progressive and innovative Manager of Engineering Planning & Assets to join our team to provide leadership and oversee programs and operations in the Engineering & Public Works Department. The role is an integral part of the Engineering & Public Works management team and emphasizes asset management infrastructure planning and the enhancement of departmental business processes offering a chance to contribute significantly to our communitys infrastructure and public services.
In this position you will lead our asset management program ensuring the effective repair maintenance and longterm planning for municipal infrastructure. You will oversee the master planning and modeling of civil infrastructure and conduct thorough budget reviews to identify cost reductions and streamline processes. Furthermore this position involves leading and managing personnel overseeing recruitment conducting performance assessments and handling disciplinary actions while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. You will also serve as the acting Director of Engineering & Public Works when required.
Specific accountabilities include developing and managing infrastructure plans and budgets and leading the departments budgeting and financial reporting. You will be responsible for preparing RFPs tenders and technical documents as well as reviewing and optimizing internal processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications :
Candidates should possess a Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related discipline with at least five years of progressive municipal civil engineering and project management experience. Professional registration as an Engineer with EGBC or membership with ASTTBC is required along with a valid BC Drivers License. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the technical nature of the work ability to think critically analytical and problemsolving skills and is focused on high quality outputs and results. You understand local government objectives and issues you are proactive and forward thinking you have excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills and a thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles and public sector budgeting.
Additional Information :
Compensation for this excluded position includes a fourstep wage range from $148836 to $165372 commensurate with qualifications and experience. It also features a comprehensive benefits package participation in the municipal pension plan a 9day fortnight work schedule and the opportunity to work with an outstanding team.
