Job Description
SPECIFIC PROJECT NOTES:
- They are specifically looking for a Network Architect with IT experience. They are NOT looking for a Cloud Arch or Solutions Arch.
- They prefer to have someone with a CCIE certification but its not required. (Id say that should be required to win this role.
- They want creative thinkers who can help build solutions that have not been created before (connecting with devices and vehicles out in the field)
Business Justification
Serve as a Traffic Technology Network Architect to create network solutions for new traffic technology systems perform network incident support develop enhancements for largescale cellular networks review new broadband communication technologies/hardware/software develop policies and procedures and evaluate potential traffic network enhancements.
Work to be Accomplished:
The worker will perform highly advanced traffic network analysis and network architecture in support of the
Traffic Technology program. Work involves leading activities associated with traffic control technology systems
planning designing and integrating integrated traffic control systems; designing installing and monitoring
traffic technology network systems; monitoring and analyzing existing hardware and software in the support of traffic
network; developing policies and procedures; preparing budget recommendations; and evaluating potential
traffic network enhancements. Reports to the Infrastructure Traffic Supervisor. Leads projects and works closely
with a diverse group of professional and technical employees.
Worker will perform these tasks:
Leads the creation and delivery of network solutions as a Subject Matter Expert; Provides expert guidance to
the team on new network solutions and designs
Reviews proposed solutions to ensure the delivery of a quality product or service to the client.
Subject matter expert who acts as liaison between the project user community and IT. Work with client
managers to supply proposals and solutions that meet the clients specific needs.
Manages thirdparty vendor and leads directs and utilizes knowledge on best practices in areas
related to traffic networking data traffic device hardware and traffic applications.
Evaluates traffic technologies for potential acquisition and directs the evaluation of various hardware
and software resources to identify strengths weaknesses and potential benefits to the agency.
Manages and establishes priorities for maintenance design development and analysis of traffic network
systems.
Supports and troubleshoots with network team on large network outages.
Conducts and recommends changes in services products protocols and standards to support
development efforts and traffic procurements.
Analyzes and manipulates traffic system and application data to review performance draw unique
insights execute datadriven decisions and communicate complex data in a concise manner to
stakeholders and management.
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Yrs of Experience Skills and Qualifications
8 Years
Bachelors Degree from an accredited fouryear college or university preferably with major coursework in engineering information systems computer science data processing or a related field
8 Years
Project development for engineering projects/systems and/or information technology applications/systems

Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)

Network equipment: Firewalls Routers Switches

Traffic Technology or Internet of Things (IoT) experience
