SY 25-26 Reading Interventionist

Role Expectations

The Reading Interventionist is a unique opportunity to engage readers needing extra support in 1on1 and small group settings and support the instruction and development of this foundational skill. 

The hours for this position are as follows:

• 9:00am to 2:45pm on Monday Tuesday and Thursday
• 8:00am to 11:00am on Wednesday
• 8:30am to 2:00pm on Friday

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Use reading data to plan lessons for 1on1 and small group instruction
• Record lesson plans in our schoolwide small group tracking system
• Regularly assess effectiveness of lessons by giving short assessments
• Track and progress monitor scholar achievement
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure instruction meets the needs of each scholar
• Actively participate in CCAs instructional coaching program (coach and be coached).

The Reading Interventionist will perform other duties as required to achieve the schools mission.

Qualifications :

Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree required.
• Experience increasing student performance in reading (preferred).
• Evidence of selfmotivation and willingness to be a team player.
• Experience working with a culturally diverse student body (preferred).

Ability to:

• Be reflective and constantly seek ways to improve (growth mentality);
• Be flexible and handle unpredictability in a professional manner;
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills communication skills (particularly with children) and problemsolving skills;
