Job Overview
An Elevator Installer and Maintenance Technician is responsible for assembling installing maintaining and repairing elevators escalators moving walkways and other lift systems. The role requires technical expertise mechanical skills and a strong understanding of safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Installation
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Assemble elevator cars platforms rails motors and other components.
- Install electrical systems control panels and wiring.
- Conduct initial testing to ensure proper operation.
Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical electrical and hydraulic issues.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as cables pulleys motors and doors.
- Test and adjust systems for optimal performance and safety.
Safety Compliance
- Adhere to safety regulations and building codes.
- Ensure elevators and escalators meet legal and operational standards.
- Maintain detailed service records and reports.
- Educate customers and building managers on proper usage and emergency procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in elevator installation or maintenance is a plus.
