Civil Engineering Intern

This internship offers handson experience in a supportive and fastpaced environment working on impactful projects across both New York and Los Angeles. As an intern you will gain valuable exposure to civil engineering tasks collaborating with experienced engineers and contributing to realworld projects that make a difference in our communities. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Assist with designing analyzing and implementing civil engineering projects including site development grading drainage and utility systems. 
• Conduct hydrology and hydraulic calculations under the guidance of senior engineers. 
• Collaborate with team members in both New York and Los Angeles offices supporting project documentation and coordination. 
• Participate in site visits and fieldwork including data collection and site observations. 
• Support project reports presentations and other documentation tasks. 

Qualifications :

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelors program in civil engineering with at least two years of completed coursework or enrolled in a Masters program with at least one year of completed coursework. 
• Strong interest in a career in civil engineering consulting particularly in site development and infrastructure. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word and AutoCAD Civil 3D or other relevant software. 
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively. 

Physical Requirements 

• Ability to work on a computer for extended periods reviewing plans and conducting calculations. 
• Comfortable with site visits navigating client sites and walking on uneven terrain. 
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds of equipment or materials.

Compensation: KPFF is committed to recognizing the valuable contributions of our interns by offering compensation that reflects market standards and aligns with the local cost of living. This role offers a competitive hourly rate starting at $28.50 and is based on experience and qualifications.
