Job Description

Job Description:The Field Engineering role forms part of multidisciplined project teams to design and deliver complex mission critical voice and data systems. The systems may be used directly by our customers or by Client to deliver Managed Services to our customers. The Field Engineers work in the post sales phases of projects and may support multiple projects in a given period depending on size and complexity. There may also be a requirement to provide support to Presales and Services Organization.

The key responsibilities of the System Integration Field Engineer: Fluent German and English Speaker

  • Manage and/or perform implementation of Dimetra and LTE communication system solutions and services which satisfy the requirements of the customer end user and operator
  • System staging at the system integration center which includes installation integration testing and commissioning of the communication system solutions
  • Responsible for the staging of MSI and 3rd party solutions Ie Dimetra core LTE EPC (Evolved Packet Core) RAN (Radio Access Network) Fault Management backhaul router/modem and others
  • Lead the network Fault Management and Network Monitoring subsystems integration and testing
  • Lead or participate in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) while coordinating the technical aspects of the acceptance testing.
  • Responsible for identifying investigating and troubleshooting of technical issues during project implementation
  • Responsible for onsite Acceptance Tests while coordinating the technical aspects of the acceptance testing.
  • Update of technical documentation and technical change management
  • Provide technical support during all project phases through to handover to Support organization
  • Communications Attend customer meetings status updates provide project reporting.
  • Provide onsite or remote support to the customers and partners
  • Responsible for selfdevelopment through an agreed training plan experience and knowledge transfer.
  • Leading the field deployment and daytoday activities: Deploying Configuring commissioning Testing and troubleshooting systems and solutions.
  • Identifies and mitigates technical risks; develops and implements risk mitigation plans and recommends corrective actions.
  • Interface communicate and coordinate the customer partner subcontractor on project deployment and best practices where required.
  • Ensure the project is delivered to the Client Quality Health and Safety standards.
  • Conducts technical implementation assessments directly with end users and project team.

Basic Requirement:

  • Fluent in English and German.
  • A University degree in Telecommunication Engineering Computer Engineering Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field is preferred but not required
  • We value skills experience and demonstrated ability over formal qualification.
  • At least 3 years of professional engineering experience in Telecommunication System IP Transport Network IT Field Service Technical Support or those equivalent
  • System integration experience in factory environment would be added advantage
  • Excellent knowledge in Fault Management and Network Monitoring application using a combination of SNMP protocol and Northbound interface API. Proficiency in
  • SQL Database Rest API and MIB are essential.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Juniper Network Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) or higher certification
  • Excellent knowledge in Operating System and Application (Unix Window Virtualization Technology etc.
  • Good knowledge in Radio Frequency (Base Station TX/RX Mobile /Portable Radio RF test equipment)
  • Manual skills for field work like wiring soldering physical installation of equipment in addition to commissioning and testing tasks.
  • Valid Driving license
  • Fulltime role based onsite at LuttowValluhn staging center
  • Availability and willingness to travel (up to 30 average yearly) inside and outside residence country;
  • Willingness to obtain relevant Security Clearance to enter customer site.

Experience in one or more of the following would be added advantage:

  • Xonitor Network Monitoring system
  • LTE EPC NOKIA RAN and Nokia Backhaul router technologies including the system parameters and related configurations
  • System integration and testing experience in Motorola specific technology Ie Dimetra(Tetra) ASTRO (P25 and WAVE/Kodiak
  • Crypto Key Variable Management System
