Join Our Team
We are looking to appoint an Art teacher to join our Performing and Visual Arts Department who:
- Has experience teaching Art in Middle and High School (GCSE, IB Diploma Level or A Level experience in at least one of these subjects would be considered favourably)
- Is passionate about teaching and learning and committed to continuous improvement.
- Can deliver engaging lessons that inspire students and foster their critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Is committed to Hamilton's vision of igniting passion, purpose, and potential in our students.
- Can contribute to curriculum development and the growth of Art, creating enriching opportunities for student learning.
- Has experience planning, assessing, and adapting curricula to meet diverse student needs while maintaining progress for the whole class.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills with students, colleagues, parents, and school leadership.
- Maintains high standards of student behavior, ensuring safety and compliance with school policies.
- Is passionate about learning beyond the classroom, with experience leading a range of Art initiatives or educational trips.
- Must be willing to contribute to art exhibitions and the wider work of the department, which may include school productions and ‘Arts’ events
- Has the ability to teach photography (desirable)
- Has experience with Photoshop or similar software (desirable)
Expert Knowledge in Performing Arts: A strong understanding of the principles and techniques involved in various performing arts disciplines (acting, dancing, music, etc. and the ability to teach these effectively.
Creative Teaching: Ability to think creatively when designing lessons and performances, encouraging students to explore new ideas and push boundaries in their artistic expression.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts and inspire students. The ability to give clear and constructive feedback.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, from lesson planning to organizing performances, rehearsals, and events.
Classroom Management: Strong classroom management skills, especially in ensuring students remain focused during practical activities, and fostering a respectful and collaborative classroom environment.
Collaborative Spirit: A willingness to collaborate with other teachers, students, and external partners to enhance the school’s performing arts offerings.

Full-time
