Job Description
At Halls were seeking a reliable and flexible Class 5 Cambridge based Driver to join our team. In this role you will be the face of our business delivering chilled and frozen freight to various businesses providing excellent service and ensuring efficient and safe deliveries.
The accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to:
Service Delivery & Operational Excellence:
- Perform pretrip checks ensuring accurate temperature settings and monitoring.
- Safely load and unload freight according to company and client specifications adhering to weight limits.
- Manage time effectively to ensure ontime deliveries and efficient routes.
- Complete all necessary documentation including Proof of Delivery (POD) and temperature logs.
- Conduct regular temperature probes of goods while in transit and report any issues promptly.
- Communicate and resolve any incidents or issues that could affect service delivery in a timely manner.
Vehicle & Equipment Use:
- Conduct prestart checks to ensure vehicle is roadworthy and fit for purpose.
- Ensure sufficient Road User Charges (RUCs) for both truck and trailer.
- Confirm current Certificate of Fitness (COF) and registration for the vehicle.
- Report any maintenance or repair issues to the Transport Manager immediately.
- Ensure the vehicle is cleaned and free of personal items and rubbish at the end of each shift.
- Leave the vehicle with sufficient fuel and AdBlue for the next shift.
Qualifications :
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Full and clean Class 5 license with a minimum of 12 months NZ Class 5 driving experience.
- Proficient in operating a Quad taillift and pallet jack.
- Experience in coupling and uncoupling trailers.
- Previous experience in refrigerated transport.
- Knowledge of Eroad & TruckMate systems.
- Physical fitness for manual unloading at delivery points.
- Commitment to a SundayThursday shift 3 am 1 pm for a CambridgeTurangi one day and Tauranga return the next.
