Job Description
Under direction of the radiation oncologist and lead therapist the radiation therapist will be responsible for ensuring the most optimal radiation therapy treatments are provided to patients
This will be a team approach in professional operations with treatment delivery simulation and brachytherapy or any other care related to the radiation therapy treatments
Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include but not limited to: Checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to treatment area; assisting patients as needed with walking transfers and preparing for treatment
Qualifications :
MustHaves
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a Radiation Therapist
- Must have knowledge of department functions how and why radiation therapy is used and be able to explain this to nurses physicians Medical Center staff and the public
- Continuing education as prescribed by JCAHO and A.R.R.T.
NiceToHaves
- Experience in a Radiation Oncology Department is desirable but not required
