The Role
As an Android Engineer you will help grow improve and maintain our existing services as well as shape our future by developing new services for Wassha.
You Would Be Interested In the Role If You
- Believe in shipping high quality code that is readable testable maintainable and continuously integrated via small safe deployments.
- Want to take on the challenge of building interconnected scaling systems that can function reliably in an environment with intermittent connectivity.
- Want to take on the challenge of building apps that work with lowperformance devices (like Android Go Edition which has limited memory resources and functionalities)
- Want to build an app that integrates with hardware devices via Bluetooth RFID or USB cable
- Enjoy collaborating and growing together with your engineering peers.
- Enjoy contributing to positive engineering culture encouraging knowledge sharing and participating in technical discussions within the team
- Believe in following best practices such as knowledge sharing and datadriven decisionmaking.
Qualifications :
Please note that this is a wish list. Even if you have less experience and only match some criteria please feel free to apply.
- 3 Years of experience as a mobile engineer (Android iOS Flutter React Native Xamarin etc)
- Practical experience of the common architectural principles like separation of concerns drive UI from data models single source of truth and unidirectional Data Flow.
- General familiarity with Android lifecycle and lifecycleaware components like ViewModel LiveData.
- General familiarity with dependency injection (Dagger Dagger hilt) and unit testing.
- General familiarity with solutions for persistent work (Service Workmanager)
- General familiarity with local databases (especially the Room persistence library)
- An understanding of test driven development and software quality metrics.

Additional Language Skills
- Japanese we are a Japanese company and a lot of our knowledge base is still written in Japanese.
- Swahili French Portuguese as our customer base is located in countries using these languages.
