Job Summary:
Cohires is seeking qualified and experienced Psychiatrists to provide comprehensive psychiatric services to youth. The role involves conducting psychiatric evaluations prescribing and monitoring medications collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring highquality mental health care in a structured setting.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in general psychiatry preferably with experience in child and adolescent psychiatry and a strong background in managing psychiatric care for atrisk youth.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform psychiatric evaluations and assessments to determine appropriate diagnoses and treatment plans.
Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications for effectiveness side effects and safety.
Participate in weekly clinical meetings with mental health professionals teachers and facility staff.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including therapists social workers and medical staff to develop comprehensive care plans.
Manage crisis interventions and emergency psychiatric situations when required.
Ensure compliance with OCFS regulations medical policies and facility protocols.
Provide documentation of treatment and progress in accordance with state and facility standards.
Attend required training and professional development sessions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Medical License to practice psychiatry in New York State.
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in General Psychiatry (Required).
Preferred: BoardCertified or Eligible in Child and amp; Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
Minimum of three 3 professional references (one must be from the past 12 months).
Must provide services inperson (this is not a remote/telepsychiatry position).
Experience working with youth populations in secure settings or juvenile justice facilities is highly preferred.
