Job Description

Our welcoming and diverse school in Brent is seeking a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join us from September 2025. This is a parttime permanent position offering a fantastic opportunity to lead and shape the schools SEND provision while maintaining a healthy worklife balance.

Your Responsibilities as SENCo:

  • Lead coordinate and develop the SEND provision across the school.
  • Work closely with teachers teaching assistants parents and external specialists to create tailored learning plans for students with additional needs.
  • Oversee the assessment planning and implementation of EHCPs (Education Health and Care Plans).
  • Support teachers in differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices for SEND inclusion.
  • Monitor the progress and wellbeing of pupils with SEND ensuring they receive the necessary interventions.
  • Liaise with local authorities and outside agencies to secure additional support when needed.

What Were Looking For:

  • SENCo qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
  • A qualified teacher (QTS) with experience supporting pupils with SEND in primary education.
  • A deep understanding of EHCPs intervention strategies and SEND policies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • A passion for inclusive education and creating equal opportunities for all students.
  • A proactive organised and solutionfocused approach to SEND provision.
