Job Description
The Software Infrastructure team is responsible for the shared technologies our company uses to deliver internal and external systems. We are the custodians of the database standards for the organization and provide IS Portfolio teams with guidance assistance and standardized practices. We are looking for a Database Deployment Engineer to help us mature the deployment and delivery of shared database utilities and scripts. You will be assisting to implement industry standard pipelines and automation to an existing library of tools to aid with security. You will also have a key role in developing and implementing our database security standard. As a Database Deployment Engineer you need to be constantly on the lookout for opportunities to improve our infrastructure security in ways that support development team autonomy. You will contribute by implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Align database build and deployment and other tooling to Companys IT general controls
- Collaborate and educate the Database Administration community on build and deployments methods
- Collaborate with subject matter experts in the organization to gather and share best practices
- Understand the compliance landscape and ensure repositories pipelines and tooling is up to standard
- Contribute to the furthering of the Core Portfolios goals for infrastructure as code
This position is onsite and will reside in the greater Seattle WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Qualifications :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with relational database management systems (DB2 PostgreSQL) and understanding of their core concepts
- Scripting experience with sh ksh bash awk sed Python and/or Perl
- Experience with Unix and Microsoft Windows environments
- Experience with build and deployment technologies (Gitlab/ Github)
- Experience with infrastructure as code tooling (Ansible)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of DB2 and PostgreSQL relational database management systems and concepts
- Experience with database monitoring and observability tooling
- Experience with secrets as a service for database credential management
- Some familiarity with SOX audit requirements
- Experience with the build and deployment of databases at scale
- Familiarity working with distributed systems
- Bachelors Degree equivalent working experience or industry certifications

Additional Information :
Expected base salary: $100000 to $150000
