Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Compliance and Process Improvement the Airworthiness Controller will be responsible of aircraft maintenance activities from a regulatory compliance perspective.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with MCM/MPM Processes and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) through the evaluation of personnel and work performed.
- Making decisions regarding quality without prejudice from the business units with emphasis on quality that could affect production output or personnel certification authority.
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Monitoring;
- Inspection and quality assurance activities to ensure they conform to Air Transat policies and regulatory standards
- Compliance with documented processes.
- Assisting in the resolution of conflicting opinions related to the airworthiness of any aeronautical product.
- Assisting with aircraft importation and exportation by acting as primary contact for aircraft registration.
- Responding to Transport Canada and foreign regulators regarding noncompliance reports.
- Assisting maintenance and inspection in carrying out their roles and responsibilities and supporting them in the resolution of quality issues.
- In regards to the audit function:
- Participating in assigned audits and followups of their respective business units;
- Investigating noncompliance from TCCA and establishing root cause analysis;
- Guiding / interfacing with business units and auditors through Air Transat facilities and responding to audit findings.
- Keeping the production unit abreast on new rules regulations and procedures by supporting the production management team for any quality issues.
- Investigating and resolving immediate quality concerns.
Qualifications :
Requirements
- Diploma in aircraft maintenance
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Quality in an airline or aircraft maintenance organization an asset
- Aircraft maintenance engineer license
- Bilingualism (English/French): essential
- Good knowledge of the basic software (Excel Word etc...);
- Meticulous and resourceful enjoying working in a team
