Job Description
Title: Network Technician
Work location: Philadelphia PA Onsite
Type: Contract
Description:
- The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for providing daytoday ownership operational support maintenance and administration of the Enterprise Networking environment (LANWAN) including design and architecture of Network solutions. The position is familiar with products services and business processes and is responsible for ensuring performance and efficiency of the enterprise Network environment. This role provides expert level support and maintenance of the Enterprise Network environment and designs reviews analyzes recommends and implements enterprise Network technology standards and solutions; including site connectivity Local and Wide Area Networking and routing core network infrastructure internet facing connectivity load balancing hostedPaaSCloud provider integration advanced troubleshooting etc. The Senior Network Engineer develops and evaluates network performance criteria and measurement methods. Prepares the analysis of capacity needs for switching and routing. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks and works under minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary functions of the Senior Network Engineer include (but are not limited to):
- Maintain networkconnectivitycloud and associated solutions
- Provide daytoday operation support monitoring maintenance updates triage and troubleshooting for Enterprise Networking environment
- Provide expertise and collaboration on defining enterprisewide technical design standards for network related technology solutions and propose solutions to leadership
- CreateMaintainUpdate enterprise network diagrams and documentation
- Research design review test and implement network related technologies and solutions
- Engage in solutions research and deployment systems standards internet services capacity planning Disaster Recovery platform upgradesmodernization and process improvement.
- Contribute to design of network related solutions and partner with Information Security and Compliance in review of all solutions against corporate security and compliance standards and requirements
- Design implement maintain and support Network Operational monitoringalerting platform(s) including Business driven dashboards metrics and KPI reporting to facilitate clear communication of network related performance across the enterprise
- IP Address space design
- External facing infrastructure faulttolerance redundancy DR etc.
- Work with internal departments and clients to determine requirements and then executedelegate required planssteps complete implementation.
- lead efforts with crossfunctional teams on enterprise network impacting initiatives and implementations
- Oversee Networkrelated projects and initiatives planning and implementation
- Work with required areas and support staff to facilitate appropriate logistical planning communication and execution of network related initiatives
- Collaborate across business areas to assure compilation of necessary business requirements from stakeholders
- Review and assess impact of proposed changes to existing environment
- Participate in implementations and support of all open initiatives and implemented network related technology solutions
- Provide Mentorship Training Vision
- Provide technical leadership for network related technologies and solutions
- Work with Company leadership to develop medium and longterm strategies as the companys goals and needs evolve
- collaborate across the organization to perform solution impact assessment and set strategy for efforts with major business impact
- Maintain strong architectural expertise and knowledge of current and emerging technologies and products and evaluates for both general and specific usage
- Overseeing test plans networkconnectivity viability reviews performance metrics designimplementation and overall network strategy
Qualifications:

- Proven ability to analyze troubleshoot and resolve network related issues
- Ability to productively work under minimal supervision
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- The successful candidate will be a highly motivated selfstarting Information Technology professional with a minimum BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in developing implementing maintaining troubleshooting and supporting infrastructurenetwork architectures
- Advanced knowledge of network operating systems primarily Cisco Certification preferred (CCNA CCNP CCDE CCIE)
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP DNS DHCP NTP VoiP BGP EIGRP communications and routing protocols
- Cisco Networking Hardware: Routers Swicthes Firewalls (Catalyst 6509E Nexus etc.)
- Experience with maintaining detailed network diagrams and technical documentation
- experience with network analysis and operational monitoringalerting tools (wireshark Solarwinds etc.)
