Job Description

Job Title: Ship/Rec/Stores Clerk II
Client: Medical Device Manufacturing Company
Duration: 6 months and 16 days
Location: Grand Rapids MI 49504
Shift: 6:30 AM 2:30 PM (MF)

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving processes
  • Staging parts for production
  • Cycle Counting
  • Forklift use onthejob training
  • Willing to work extra hours when needed

Job Duties:

  • Performs manual and clerical shipping/receiving duties; may work out of a central warehouse.
  • Uses computer system for tracking logging verifying and reporting.
  • Follows shipping practices transportation routing schedules and requirements.
  • Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment.
  • Unpacks/wraps finished products raw stock assemblies parts etc.
  • Verifies quantity weight and conformance of materials to stated identifications.
  • Logs receipt of items processes freight bills packing sheets and other documents.
  • Reports materials shipped and bills of lading posts weight/shipping charges and routes merchandise.

Production Support Career Stream:

  • Supports manufacturing operations/distribution centers: assembly machinery processing packaging and/or distribution.
  • Sets up and operates automatic/semiautomatic machines in production.
  • Reports machine malfunctions and abnormalities; higher levels may recommend/make adjustments.
  • Involved in shipping receiving inventory control or storage of products.

  • Works under moderate supervision; general supervision for routine work detailed for new activities.
  • Follows operational procedures and equipment usage guidelines.
  • Performs clerical tasks in a distribution center based on prior experience.

  • Performs intermediate activities requiring judgment in manufacturing/production operations or distribution.
  • Work consists of typically routine tasks.

  • Handles routine problems within current work processes and systems.
  • May highlight concerns/problems in own job area.

  • Obtains/provides information with some explanation or interpretation.

  • May provide guidance and assistance to new or entrylevel employees.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Full job knowledge of productionrelated systems and procedures.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required.
  • May require vocational/technical education or certification in addition to work experience.
