Fulltime Permanent April 2025 Start

Are you a passionate and inspiring Teacher of Physics with a desire to ignite a love of science in young minds We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual including ECTs to join our highachieving Science department in a boys grammar school in Hillingdon.

About the Science Department:

The Science department is a dynamic and collaborative team with a shared commitment to delivering a highquality science education. We offer a rigorous and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of scientific disciplines including Physics Chemistry and Biology. We have wellequipped laboratories and access to the latest technology and resources to support students learning and exploration of science.

About the Role:

  • Teach Physics across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the possibility of teaching at GCSE and A Level depending on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources including demonstrations experiments and technology to bring Physics to life for students.
  • Assess student progress set targets and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
  • Contribute to the departments curriculum development and resource creation ensuring that our Physics curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
  • Foster a love of Physics in students encouraging them to explore the wonders of the physical world and develop their scientific understanding.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in Physics education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent (or is eligible to apply).
  • Possesses excellent subject knowledge in Physics.
  • Demonstrates a passion for teaching Physics and a commitment to student success.
  • Has strong communication interpersonal and classroom management skills.
  • Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for Physics and relevant examination specifications.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
