Position Summary:

As our Junior Bookkeeper you will assist with maintaining accurate financial records for our clients. This position involves handling various bookkeeping tasks including data entry reconciling accounts and assisting with financial reports. The ideal candidate will be organised possess strong numerical skills and have a keen interest in developing their bookkeeping expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record financial transactions in accounting software and manage accounts payable/receivable including invoice investigations when necessary.
  • Perform bank reconciliations manage client banking duties and prepare ABA files for client upload.
  • Follow up on outstanding creditors maintain records and generate reports.
  • Prepare and send invoices and receipts to debtors.
  • Process payroll and maintain employee records (excluding pay rate advice).
  • Set up new clients in Xero and manage payroll processing.
  • Prepare and complete monthly/quarterly activity statements.
  • Assist in preparing management reports and ensure compliance with ethical standards.
  • Support team collaboration professional development and firmwide initiatives.
  • Track performance update timesheets and participate in process improvements.

Skills:

  • 2 years of AU bookkeeping or accounting experience is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with accounting software Xero XPM Xero Tax Ignition MYOB FYI Docs is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fastpaced environment.
  • Uphold firm values integrity and contribute to a positive work environment.
