Identify problems in HVDC, plan maintenance and monitor contractors work.
Responsibilities:
Assist Engineer in the supervision of maintenance work performed by contractors.
Give feedback reports.
Identify source of issues.
Perform troubleshooting.
System Installation and Commissioning
Oversee installation: Manage and supervise the installation of HVDC equipment, including converters, transformers, switches, and other power electronics.
Commission new systems: Ensure that newly installed HVDC systems are properly commissioned, conducting tests and ensuring that everything is functioning to specifications.
Configuration and setup: Configure and set up control systems, ensuring the systems are properly synchronized and integrated into the existing power grid.
Maintenance and Repairs
Preventive maintenance: Lead routine checks and inspections of HVDC equipment, performing preventive maintenance tasks to avoid system failures.
Troubleshooting: Address system faults, conduct troubleshooting procedures, and resolve issues that could impact system performance, ensuring minimal downtime.
Replace faulty components: Supervise or execute the replacement of malfunctioning or worn-out components of the HVDC system.
Testing and Performance Monitoring
Conduct system tests: Perform high-level diagnostic tests on HVDC systems to ensure proper operation and performance under different conditions.
Analyze data: Review system performance data, identifying any abnormalities and potential areas of improvement.
Monitor system efficiency: Continuously monitor HVDC systems to ensure efficiency and safety standards are met.
Safety and Compliance
Adhere to safety standards: Ensure that safety protocols and guidelines are followed in all operations and that HVDC systems meet all safety and regulatory requirements.
Training and guidance: Provide training and mentoring to junior technicians, ensuring they are aware of safety standards and proper operating procedures.
Risk management: Identify and assess risks related to HVDC systems, implementing corrective measures as necessary to ensure system reliability and safety.

Technical Expertise:
Comprehensive knowledge of HVDC technologies, including line commutated converters (LCC) and voltage source converters (VSC).
Proficiency in HVDC system operation and maintenance, including equipment such as converters, transformers, and switching stations.
Expertise in power electronics, electrical circuits, and related control systems.
Strong understanding of grid integration, power transmission networks, and electrical protection systems.
Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving:
Ability to quickly diagnose and repair faults in HVDC systems.
Experience with advanced diagnostic tools and test equipment for fault detection and system performance analysis.
Safety Standards & Compliance:
In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards in high-voltage environments.
Experience with industry-standard safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, and risk management.
Project Management:
Ability to manage HVDC-related projects from start to finish, including coordinating with other teams and external contractors.
Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Experience with data analysis to monitor system performance, identify inefficiencies, and optimize operations.
Ability to prepare and deliver detailed technical reports, maintenance logs, and system performance evaluations.
