NiSource Cybersecuritys database of choice is Azure DataBricks and would prefer skillset in SQL. Candidates should be experienced in the environment creation in DataBricks through application loading and transformation.
Additional skills in Power BI for visualization and dashboard creation a plus.
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in Azure DataBricks to join our team. This role will focus on designing developing and maintaining secure and efficient database structures to support business operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset expertise in data architecture and familiarity with security best practices.
Additional responsibilities related to cybersecurity data governance and compliance will be integrated to align with enterprise security frameworks.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in a Database Administrator (DBA) role
- Strong knowledge of Azure DataBricks SQL and data modeling
- Experience with environment creation in DataBricks including application loading and data transformation
- Ability to develop endtoend technical plans for implementation
- Understanding of SDLC agile models and best practices
- Familiarity with both legacy and cloudbased computing architectures
- Knowledge of data architecture modeling standards and tools
Nice to Have
- Experience with Power BI for data visualization and dashboard creation
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles cloud security and data protection
- Understanding of risk assessment methodologies and compliance standards
- Proficiency in enterprise security architectures and incident response strategies
- Familiarity with identity & access management (IAM) threat intelligence and secure application development
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP CISM or cloud security certifications
Responsibilities
- Design and implement optimized database solutions within Azure DataBricks to improve data storage retrieval and overall system efficiency
- Evaluate NiSource operations applications and requirements to determine database structural needs and ensure alignment with organizational objectives
- Ensure all data models architectures and solutions comply with NiSource data standards security policies and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to integrate database architecture with cybersecurity best practices ensuring secure and compliant data management
- Develop and maintain comprehensive data models and create endtoend technical implementation plans for database solutions
- Work within both legacy and modern computing architectures facilitating smooth data integration and transitions to cloudbased environments
- Apply architecture modeling standards cloud security principles and industry best practices to maintain secure and scalable database systems
- Analyze database and security risks supporting threat intelligence risk assessments and incident response activities
- Utilize SQL to enhance database performance maintain data integrity and enforce secure access controls
- Identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities in database structures ensuring compliance with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF
- Participate in security audits compliance reviews and forensic analyses as needed to maintain system integrity
- Explore the use of AI and machine learning for database security enhancement performance optimization and proactive threat detection
