Job Description

As an Electrical Design Engineer you will be an integral part of our Building Services team working on a diverse range of projects. You will be responsible for designing electrical systems that are efficient sustainable and tailored to client needs. This role requires a blend of technical expertise creative problemsolving skills and a commitment to sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical System Design:

  • Develop and design electrical systems for various building projects including power distribution  standby power lighting fire alarms security and communication systems.
  • Create detailed electrical drawings specifications and calculations using software such as Revit.
  • Ensure designs are compliant with relevant codes standards and regulations.

2. Technical Expertise:

  • Work alongside Senior Electrical Engineers to provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and building services technology.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to verify compliance with design specifications.

3. Sustainability and Innovation:

  • Incorporate sustainable design principles into all electrical systems and projects.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Participate in sustainability initiatives and contribute to the achievement of Rambolls environmental goals.

4. Client and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored electrical design solutions.
  • Present design concepts and project updates to clients and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients contractors and other project partners.

5. Team Collaboration:

  • Assist in the planning and management of electrical engineering projects ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and stakeholders to ensure integrated and cohesive project solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Building Services team and other disciplines.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive team environment.

About You

Bachelors degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. IEng or working towards Chartership).

Proven experience in electrical design within the building services sector.

Proficiency in design software such as Revit and electrical design tools such as Relux and Amtech.

Good understanding of UK building regulations standards and codes.

Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
