Job Summary:
Syra Health is seeking a detailoriented and customerfocused Medical Office Clerk to join our team at Camp Pendleton CA. This position provides essential administrative and clerical support to ensure smooth and efficient operations within a fastpaced medical office environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to thrive in a teamoriented setting.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors providing courteous and professional assistance.
- Answer and manage incoming calls directing them appropriately and taking messages.
- Schedule and confirm medical appointments verifying patient eligibility for services.
- Provide general instructions to patients and make referrals as needed.
- Maintain and update patient medical records ensuring accuracy completeness and confidentiality.
- Organize and research patient records extracting information as required.
- Ensure timely arrival of medical records for appointments.
- Initiate and locate patient medical records.
- Obtain necessary documentation such as test results for healthcare providers.
- Perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support medical care and operations.
- Create and manage appointment schedules and templates using the patient appointment system.
- Conduct endofday closing procedures resolving any outstanding or pending appointments.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in an office setting preferably in a medical office.
- Typing speed of 50 WPM minimum.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong customer service skills and telephone etiquette.
- Proficiency in general office administrative and clerical tasks.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus. (Consider specifying systems if known e.g. Experience with AHLTA CHCS or MHS GENESIS a plus.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with military health care systems (AHLTA CHCS MHS GENESIS DEERS).
- Knowledge of military filing systems and medical record procedures.
