Job Description

Kanadevia Inova are recruiting an Operations Manager for our Energy from Waste (EfW) plant in Slough Berkshire UK.

The Operations Manager is directly responsible for the personnel onsite and the activities of the plant operations departments and is accountable alongside other management personnel for maintaining the continued operation of the facility in compliance with established safety regulations and procedures federal and UK environmental regulations production schedules output requirements and contractual obligations.

The Operations Manager will take the lead in the overall evaluation of the operations department ensuring production safety quality and operations standards are met.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manages the activities of the plants operations department through direct supervision of the Shift Team Leaders ensuring the effective execution of their job responsibilities
  • Directs the coordination of the plant operations departments with the maintenance department in prioritizing planning and scheduling maintenance activities
  • Maintains systems for tracking plant conditions and performance evaluating the effectiveness of operating and maintenance practices identifying problem areas and areas for potential improvements and measuring plant performance against financial and contractual goals
  • Participates in budget development manages and controls operations expenditures maintaining an active cost reduction program directed toward improved plant profitability
  • Participates in the preparation of reports and presentations and in planning and directing regularly scheduled Shift Team Leader meetings

    Qualifications :

    • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) degree or equivalent experience
    • Postgraduate management degree preferred
    • Extensive understanding and demonstrable experience in the operations of an EfW Plant or similar background
    • Ability to plan manage process and implement all business project changes
    • Computer literate and good working knowledge of Microsoft suite applications
    • Excellent English both written and verbal is required.
