Job Description
Performs in vivo and therapeutic nuclear med procedures:
Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for admin via injection ingestion and inhalation methods under indirect supervision of board certified radiologist
Greets patients in friendly and professional manner
Ensures proper patient identification
operates radiation protection calibration and imaging equipment
positions and immobilizes patients as needed
applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient self and others
evaluates recorded images for technical quality
assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during exam and treatment
practices aseptic technique as needed
ensure proper documentation of exam technical factors film usage quality improvement etc.
Performs quality control checks as required
Must be highly professional work well with others and able to adhere to established hospital and medical imaging department policies rules and regulations
