Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daytoday operations of the mechanical department (onboard and workshop).
- Monitor and improve financial performance against budgets.
- Prepare annual departmental manpower OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
- Oversee raw materials equipment logistics personnel and administrative processes.
- Develop production objectives standards and schedules for timely project delivery.
- Liaise with Project Managers clients and classification societies to resolve project issues.
- Optimize manpower equipment and resources while maintaining cost control.
- Establish systems to track and monitor productivity metrics.
- Engage and develop personnel while driving continual improvement and change management.
- Ensure compliance with safety quality and environmental management policies.
- Authorize procurement of equipment spares and materials.
- Prioritize employee wellbeing and maintain a safe work environment.
- Ensure all activities are captured for billing and reporting purposes.
Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Marine Engineering Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 3 to 1 (Motor Ship) is preferred.
- Project management qualification is an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of shipyard experience including leadership of a P&O department.
- 3–4 years of managerial experience in the Marine industry (ship repair conversion new building offshore/onshore).
- Extensive knowledge of ship engines and machining tools.
