Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have experience in food preparation maintaining hygiene standards and assisting senior chefs in daily kitchen operations. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn grow and contribute to a dynamic culinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes as per the chefs instructions.
- Ensure food preparation areas and kitchen equipment are kept clean and sanitized.
- Follow recipes and maintain consistency in food quality and presentation.
- Assist in portioning chopping marinating and other food prep activities.
- Maintain inventory and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Support the senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and manage kitchen duties efficiently
- Work in a fastpaced environment and handle pressure during peak hours.
- Follow all kitchen safety procedures and maintain high hygiene standards.
- Help in waste management by minimizing food wastage and utilizing ingredients effectively.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience as a Commis or in a similar role.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Understanding of food safety standards kitchen hygiene and storage procedures.
- Physically fit to work long hours in a busy kitchen environment.
- Good time management skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn from senior chefs.
Preferred Candidate:
- North Indian Candidate preferred.
- Willing to relocate to Dindigul if required.
Proven experience as a Commis , with a minimum of 1 years in a similar role. Exceptional ability in kitchen management, including menu planning, staff supervision, and inventory control. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Up-to-date knowledge of culinary trends and best practices, with a focus on optimizing kitchen processes. Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Office, restaurant management software, and POS systems. Degree in Culinary Science or a related certificate is preferred.
