Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN School Croydon

Location: Croydon
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: FullTime Permanent
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Are you a Psychology graduate passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) Do you want to gain handson experience in a specialist school setting A highly supportive SEN school in Croydon is looking for a dedicated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience before pursuing further studies or a career in educational psychology teaching or therapy.

Your Role as a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant:

Support students with SEN including Autism ADHD SEMH and speech & language needs.
Work 1:1 and in small groups to help students develop confidence and independence.
Assist teachers in delivering structured engaging and adaptive lessons.
Use psychologybased strategies to support students emotional social and academic growth.
Monitor progress and contribute to individual learning plans.
Help create a positive and structured learning environment.

Who Were Looking For:

Psychology (or related) graduate with a strong interest in SEN and child development.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A patient compassionate and proactive approach to education.
Some experience working with children or young people (e.g. tutoring mentoring volunteering) is desirable.
An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
