About the Sociology Teacher Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to teach Sociology at Key Stage 5 (ALevel) inspiring students with engaging lessons and contemporary sociological perspectives. You will play a key role in shaping young minds and preparing them for future success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver highquality Sociology lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to explore sociological concepts and develop their critical thinking skills.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in Sociology providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Contribute to the development of the Sociology curriculum and departmental resources.
  • Stay uptodate with current sociological research and debates.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and ensure the highest standards of Sociology teaching.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Sociology or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Sociology at the secondary level specifically ALevel.
  • A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Sociology and ALevel exam specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for Sociology and a commitment to inspiring students.
