About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire a love of drama and theatre in young minds and contribute to a dynamic and creative learning environment. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 fostering students performance skills and developing their understanding of dramatic techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan deliver and evaluate engaging Drama lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in line with the National Curriculum.
- Foster a creative and interactive learning environment encouraging students to explore dramatic techniques improvisation and performance skills.
- Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the schools vision and the latest advancements in drama education.
- Direct and produce school productions providing opportunities for students to showcase their talents and develop their confidence on stage.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students promoting teamwork and fostering a love of learning.
- Play an active role in the department including contributing to curriculum development assessment strategies and departmental meetings.
- Participate in wholeschool events and initiatives fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified Drama Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and developing their dramatic abilities.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for drama with a strong understanding of theatre history dramatic theory and a variety of performance styles.
- Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
