Job Description
As an R&D Electronics Engineer you will lead the endtoend development of electronics hardware focusing on power electronics PCB design and prototyping. You ll work on switching power supplies EMI management and highpower PCB layouts collaborating closely with Australian teams to meet strict project milestones while also supporting Ohmni s consulting division with specialized electronics expertise.
Job Overview
Shift: Morning Shift (Mon Fri 05:00 AM 02:00 PM) Weekends Off
Work setup: Permanent Work From Home
- Design develop and optimize power electronics circuits and PCBs.
- Work on switching power supplies motor drives and inverter designs.
- Ensure EMI/EMC compliance in PCB layouts and circuit design.
- Create and review schematics BOMs and Gerber files for manufacturing readiness.
- Collaborate daily with our Australian engineering team.
- Conduct simulations using MATLAB LTspice and PLECS.
- Assist with prototyping and testing coordination with fabrication partners.
Requirements
The Qualifications We Seek
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience: At least 3 years in electronics circuit design and PCB layout.
- Avid electronics hobbyist or researcher with a handson approach.
- R&D Leadership: Ability to lead and manage R&D projects in circuit design and PCB layout with minimal supervision.
- Power Electronics: Knowledge of AC/DC and DC/DC conversion inverters and motor drives.
- PCB Design: Proficiency in Altium Designer KiCad or similar PCB software.
- Knowledge of EMI mitigation techniques and thermal management.
- Experience in component selection sourcing and BOM optimization.
- Ability to troubleshoot circuits and optimize PCB layouts for efficiency.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
- Experience with flywheel energy storage industrial automation or battery management systems.
- Knowledge of IEC/UL compliance and safety standards.
- Handson experience with embedded firmware (C STM32 TI DSPs).
- Familiarity with Australian/New Zealand electrical regulations.
