Type: Direct Hire Permanent
Shift: Monday to Friday (8 Hours per Day with Weekend Rotation)
Facility: 153Bed Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)

The facility is a 153bed Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) offering posthospital shortterm rehabilitation as well as longterm and respite care services.
Job Overview:
Our client a 153bed Skilled Nursing Facility in Phillipsburg NJ is seeking a qualified and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join their healthcare team. This is a fulltime permanent position with an 8hour shift Monday to Friday and a weekend rotation. As an RT you will be integral in providing respiratory care to patients including those recovering from posthospital stays and those in need of longterm or respite care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments including ventilator management oxygen therapy and aerosol therapy as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients respiratory status and adjust treatments as necessary to improve or maintain optimal respiratory function.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests arterial blood gas analysis and other assessments.
- Collaborate with physicians nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and update care plans for patients.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and care providing instructions for managing chronic respiratory issues and using home respiratory equipment.
- Ensure that all respiratory equipment is properly maintained and cleaned following all safety and infection control protocols.
- Document all treatments patient progress and assessments accurately adhering to facility policies and regulatory requirements.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations including code blue and respiratory distress as part of the emergency response team.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control standards to ensure safe care delivery.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Current Respiratory Therapist (RT) license in the state of New Jersey.
- Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) hospital or similar healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory care techniques including the use of various respiratory equipment and therapy modalities.
- Ability to work effectively with elderly patients and individuals with chronic respiratory conditions.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with patients families and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Ability to remain calm and perform effectively in emergency situations.
- Compassionate and patientfocused approach to care.
