Position Overview:

We are looking for a Data Engineer to design implement and optimize data pipelines to support analytics and reporting. Youll work on data ingestion ETL/ELT processes realtime streaming and ensuring data quality and security. Collaborating with stakeholders youll build and maintain the data platform while ensuring performance scalability and compliance with best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with business analystsdata analysts data scientists and other stakeholders to understanddata requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Implement data ingestion processes tomove structured semistructured and unstructured data from varioussources into the data lake.
• Design develop and maintain robustETL/ELT pipelines to extract transform and load data into the datawarehouse ensuring data qualityconsistency and integrity.
• Orchestrate and automate data workflowsensuring timely and reliable data processing.
• Implement data cleansing enrichmentand normalisation to prepare data for downstream analysis.
• Implement and manage realtime datastreaming solutions ensuring that realtime data is accuratelycaptured processed and made available for immediate analytics andreporting.
• Continuously monitor troubleshoot andoptimise the performance of data workflows.
• Manage and optimise a data lakeensuring efficient storage retrieval and processing of largescaledatasets.
• Develop data models and schemas withinthe data warehouse using dimensional modelling techniques to supportanalytical reporting and querying.
• Implement best practices for datawarehousing based on Kimball Data Warehouse Lifecycle methodologyensuring data is organised scalable and performant.
• Implement data partitioning bucketingand indexing strategies to enhance query performance.
• Implement rolebased access controlsencryption and other security measures to protect sensitive data.
• Contributeto the implementation of Data Lakehouse architectures.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologiesto enhance the existing data architecture and support Data Lakehouseuse cases.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation forall data processes pipelines and architecture components.
• Ensure that all data engineeringpractices comply with company policies and standards.

  
  
  Requirements:
  

  • Bachelors degree in computer scienceinformation systems data engineering or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience as a DataEngineer with a focus on backend development including buildingand maintaining data pipelines data lakes and data warehouses inAWS/GCP environments.
  • Advanced SQL skills and proficiency inscripting languages (e.g. Python) for data processing andautomation.
  • Strong experience with managing anddeveloping data workflows by using a tool such as Apache Airflow.
  • Proficiency in Amazon Glue or similartools for ETL development.
  • Knowledge of realtime data streamingtechnologies such as Apache Kafka is a plus.
  • Experience with data lake and datawarehouse implementations.
  • Familiarity with Data Lakehousearchitectures and experience with tools like Google Big QuerySnowflake or Databricks is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of AWS and/or GCPcloud data services.
  • Strong analytical skills with theability to diagnose issues in complex data workflows.
  • Strong documentation skills withattention to detail in managing data processes and documentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolveperformance bottlenecks in data processing pipelines.
  • Experience managing multiple projectssimultaneously and delivering them on time.
  • Ability to translate technical conceptsinto businessfriendly language.
  • Good communication skills to collaborateeffectively with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to newtechnologies tools and methodologies in the rapidly evolving dataengineering landscape.
  • Willingness to stay uptodate with thelatest trends and best practices in data engineering cloudcomputing and data management.
