Job Description

Looking for a Quality Head who can be based in Faridabad for a company that is into Steel Alloy manufacturing
Job Summary: The Quality Head will be responsible for overseeing the quality control
processes in a steel manufacturing unit. This role is vital in ensuring the production of high
quality steel products that meet customer expectations and comply with industry standards.
The Quality Head will lead a team of quality inspectors enforce adherence to quality
management systems (QMS) and drive continuous improvement efforts. The individual in
this role will use their expertise in steel production techniques data analysis and problem
solving to ensure that the manufacturing process is efficient defectfree and meets all
relevant quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Control Management:
o Supervise and manage the implementation of quality control procedures for all
stages of steel production from raw material receipt through to final product
delivery.
o Ensure products meet customer specifications and industry standards by
establishing monitoring and refining inspection and testing protocols.
o Conduct regular inspections and audits of processes and materials to ensure
compliance with quality standards.
2. Team Leadership & Development:
o Lead and develop a team of quality inspectors ensuring they are trained on
quality control standards manufacturing processes and safety protocols.
o Promote a culture of continuous learning and performance improvement
within the quality control team.
o Provide regular feedback training and guidance to team members to enhance
skills efficiency and team morale.
3. Compliance & Certification:
o Ensure that the steel manufacturing processes comply with relevant industry
standards and QMS certifications and other applicable standards.
o Collaborate with internal and external auditors to maintain certifications and
adhere to regulatory requirements.
o Ensure that all documentation related to quality control is maintained and
updated in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.
4. Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization:
o Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing
techniques Six Sigma or other improvement methodologies to enhance
production processes and reduce defects.
o Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement
solutions that reduce waste increase efficiency and maintain product quality.
o Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues implementing corrective
actions and preventive measures to address recurring defects.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting:
o Utilize statistical tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor
analyze and interpret production data to identify quality trends and variations.
o Develop and maintain key quality performance indicators (KPIs) to track
product quality production efficiency and process effectiveness.
o Generate comprehensive reports on quality performance for management
providing insights into areas of success and areas needing improvement.
6. Steel Production Expertise:
o Apply knowledge of steel production techniques including casting rolling
and heat treatment to ensure quality outcomes at each stage of the
manufacturing process.
o Work closely with the production and engineering teams to ensure all raw
materials semifinished products and finished goods meet required quality
standards.
o Help troubleshoot issues related to steel defects material properties or other
production challenges and work with the team to find practical solutions.
7. Supplier & Customer Interaction:
o Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming raw materials
meets the standards required for steel production.
o Manage customer relationships related to quality concerns ensuring any
product quality complaints are addressed promptly and effectively.
o Provide customers with reports or updates as needed and work to resolve any
qualityrelated issues that arise postdelivery.
8. Risk Management & Safety:
o Ensure quality control activities are conducted in alignment with safety
protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
o Proactively identify and mitigate risks that could affect product quality
operational efficiency or employee safety.
o Lead initiatives to reduce nonconformities and ensure that products
consistently meet safety regulatory and quality requirements.
