Job Description

An Assistant Body Shop Manager at Heart City Toyota in Elkhart Indiana plays a pivotal role in supporting the Body Shop Manager to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the body shop. This position involves overseeing daily activities managing staff and maintaining high standards of customer service and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Oversight: Assist in managing daily operations of the body shop including scheduling repairs coordinating with customers and insurance companies and ensuring timely completion of services.

  • Staff Management: Support in hiring training and supervising a team of technicians and support staff. Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment to enhance productivity and morale.

  • Customer Relations: Serve as a liaison between customers and the body shop addressing inquiries providing estimates and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the repair process.

  • Quality Control: Monitor repair work to ensure it meets company standards and manufacturer specifications. Implement quality control measures to maintain highquality service.

  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory and supplies ensuring necessary parts and materials are available for repairs.

  • Financial Management: Help prepare and manage the body shops operating budget monitor expenses and work towards achieving financial goals.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 25 years in automotive repair with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in automotive repair or management are advantageous.

  • Skills:

    • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
    • Proficient in automotive repair processes and quality standards.
    • Excellent organizational and problemsolving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
    • Familiarity with inventory management and financial oversight.
