Job Description :
This role requires a deep understanding of API solutions and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects and development teams to ensure that these solutions align with business requirements and best practices. The engineer will be tasked with implementing Restful APIs using Java and related technologies as well as developing configuring and maintaining API proxies on Apigee (OPDK). In addition to development tasks the engineer will monitor troubleshoot and debug issues on API Gateway platforms ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. A solid understanding of platform monitoring and debugging is essential as is experience with Enterprise Kong Kong Konnect Kubernetes and various authentication protocols such as Oauth Grant type. The engineer will also be responsible for maintaining public API specifications and documentation using the KONG Developer portal. Knowledge of API design standards patterns and best practices particularly with Swagger and OpenAPI 2.0 REST JSON and XML is crucial. The role requires proven skills in implementing APIs that are consumed by web and mobile applications as well as a good understanding of tokenbased authentication protocols like OAUTH/OIDC. Additionally experience in automating Kong API gateway configurations as part of a DevOps pipeline is highly desirable. The candidate should be fluent in modern versions of Java and have experience with JavaScript frameworks database connectivity and tools for relational databases messaging metrics and tracking. Familiarity with CI/CD Kubernetes Docker and build automation tools is also required.
Responsibilities
Design develop and maintain microservices.
Support and manage Enterprise Kong and Kong Konnect.
Collaborate with architects and development teams to ensure API solutions align with business requirements and best practices.
Design develop and implement Restful APIs using Java and related technologies.
Develop configure and maintain API proxies on Apigee (OPDK).
Monitor troubleshoot and debug issues on API Gateway platforms.
Maintain public API specifications and documentation using KONG Developer portal.
Automate Kong API gateway configurations as part of DevOps pipeline.
Requirements
6 years of professional experience in application development.
Handson experience in installing and configuring Kong API Gateway and integrating with existing APIs.
Good understanding of platform monitoring and debugging.
Experience with Enterprise Kong Kong Konnect Kubernetes and Oauth Grant type authentication protocols.
Proven skill in implementing APIs consumed by web applications and mobile native applications.
Good knowledge of OAUTH/OIDC tokenbased authentication protocol.
Fluent with modern versions of Java and have used it in backend applications.
Experience working with Java JavaScript frameworks and DB connectivity like JPA JDBC Spring Data.
Working experience in AngularJS.
Experience in tools for relational databases messaging metrics and tracking.
Work experience in CI/CD Kubernetes Docker etc.
Work experience in build automation using relevant tools.
