Position Summary:
The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations in a trailer manufacturing facility. This includes managing inventory coordinating shipments and deliveries ensuring the safe storage of materials and optimizing the flow of materials to support the production team. The Warehouse Manager will work closely with production and procurement teams to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of materials and components.
Warehouse Operations Management:
Oversee all warehouse functions including receiving storage inventory control order fulfillment and shipping of materials used in trailer manufacturing.
Inventory Control:
Ensure accurate tracking and control of materials spare parts and components required for trailer production.
Monitor inventory levels and work with procurement to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
Staff Supervision:
Lead and manage warehouse staff ensuring they are properly trained motivated and adhere to safety standards. Schedule shifts assign tasks and monitor performance.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce safety procedures in accordance with OSHA guidelines and company policies. Ensure the warehouse is a safe working environment by conducting regular inspections and addressing hazards.
Logistics Coordination:
Coordinate the movement of materials from suppliers to the warehouse and from the warehouse to the production floor.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of components to production teams.
Process Optimization:
Continuously assess and improve warehouse operations including layout material handling procedures and inventory management systems to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Equipment Management:
Ensure proper maintenance and usage of warehouse equipment such as forklifts pallet jacks and shelving systems. Ensure compliance with safety standards for equipment usage.
Order Fulfillment:
Work with production teams to ensure that all necessary components are available when needed avoiding delays in the manufacturing process.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of all warehouse activities including inventory transactions shipments and returns. Prepare reports for management regarding stock levels turnover rates and any discrepancies.
Cost Management:
Monitor warehouse expenses and implement costsaving initiatives while maintaining operational efficiency
Requirements
Desirable qualifications skills knowledge and experience:
Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics Business Administration or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in warehouse management preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience in trailer manufacturing or automotive industries is a plus.
Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a warehouse setting with strong organizational and problemsolving skills.
Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. Familiarity with inventory management tools and barcode scanning technology
Strong understanding of warehouse logistics inventory control and material handling processes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams vendors and management.
Fluency in English and Kiswahili languages.
