Job Description: Chef de Partie
Location: Dumfries and Galloway Scotland
Job Type: Fulltime
Salary: £30000 £32000 per annum
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Manage a section of the kitchen and oversee the activities of the kitchen staff working in that section.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain the highest standard of hygiene in the kitchen.
- Assist in menu planning maintaining profitability and ensure food costs are managed effectively.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operation and timely food service.
- Monitor inventory levels place orders for food supplies and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Maintain equipment and kitchen tools reporting any repairs or replacements needed to the head chef.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proficiency in culinary arts with a strong understanding of various cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Strong cooking skills with handson experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and highpressure environment.
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
- Experience in training or leading kitchen staff is preferred.
- Background in catering activities and restaurant operations.
