The AECOM Cambridge PM team plays a critical role in delivering health and science projects that transform lives. Our work focuses on hospitals research facilities laboratories and emergency response infrastructure ensuring resilient and futureproof healthcare systems.

We are part of AECOMs UK Buildings & Places business headquartered in Aldgate London. We have a strong presence across East Anglia. Our team is successfully delivering complex healthcare science and infrastructure projects including:

  • Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital
  • Kettering General Hospital New Energy Centre (sustainable hospital infrastructure)
  • RAF Lakenheath Health & Infrastructure Programme (AECOM has secured an 8year PM/CM framework with USVF)
  • Astex Therapeutics (science and research facility)
  • University of Cambridge Whittle Laboratory (science and research facility)

Our 30 strong regional team of professional Project Managers comes from diverse educational backgrounds (MRICS MICE CIOB) but all share a common goal: delivering highquality healthcare and science environments.

Heres what youll do:

As the ideal candidate you will have consultancy or clientside experience in managing healthcare science or infrastructure projects and should be able to:

 

  • Project management for the successful delivery of healthcare and sciencebased construction projects.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement with NHS Trusts research institutions and government health agencies.
  • Guide and develop junior project managers within the team.
  • Secure client confidence and trust through excellent delivery and communication.
  • Manage project time cost and quality effectively.
  • Support sustainability digital transformation and resilience goals within healthcare and science infrastructure projects.

Qualifications :

Ready to push the limits of whats possible

Heres what were looking for:

Minimum requirements

  • Experience in healthcare science and/or infrastructure projects with an understanding of the latest trends challenges and regulatory environments.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to present project progress to NHS executives medical researchers and key stakeholders.
  • Experience in design project management and contract administration (JCT/NEC).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills ensuring healthcare and research projects meet regulatory and operational needs.
  • Knowledge of the pre and postcontract project lifecycle within RIBA stages 17.
  • Excellent documentation reporting and compliance management to support hospital science and infrastructure projects

Preferred qualifications

  • Chartered Status (RICS CIOB RIBA ICE or other relevant institution).
  • Project Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Masters Degree.
  • APM or Prince 2 experience (desirable but not essential).
